Takes an active role in promoting human rights and democracy and has been one of the founders of the New Democracy Movement in Turkey, promoting human rights and rights of the minorities. She has been the vice president of the movement and has traveled in Europe widely including meeting some of the MPs of the European Parliament.

Works intensively with women groups and has prepared and coordinated weekly training seminars on “Democray and EU Citizenship” in 2005 for twenty seven NGOs under the umbrella organization of the Union of Women’s Associations in Izmir.
